Outfits

Now I realize I probably don't have an eye for fashion. But it's still fun to design clothes, especially on Polyvore, here's some of my creations.

I thought this was cute for a summer day, dressy, but the converse make it casual. I would never wear this, but I still think it's cute.

This is very much a school day outfit, nothing to flashy of crazy but still really cute.

This one is really similar to the first, same clutch and hat, but the shoes just make it more dressy.

Another school day outfit. I have an obsession with lots of bracelets and beanies, well I have an obsession with a lot of things.

I thought this was just a fun spin on a girls LBD

Pink, Black and White.

I would never wear that top, but it matched, I like this outfit more for the sandals and bag.

This outfit is exactly what the shirt says. The beanie, the shorts, the converse and the funky nail polish add to a really cool effect.

This is an outfit I designed for my friend, and let me say it fits her perfectly!

This is another outfit for a friend. She was against getting clothes designed for her, and she hates fashion I did my best to make something to fit her. I think it works, Hair back, nude lips, lightning earrings to represent Percy Jackson, a back pack to carry her necessary supplies, and a cute book necklace, that's $145 at Anthropologie, (I plan on making my own.)

This was just a fun summer outfit. I like the bag more then anything else.

Another school day outfit, black, white and red

Another summery outfit. I wouldn't wear this stuff individually, but together it works.

Back to School? I think so! Just to show off my inner creativity :D

Hey ya'll, it's been a while. I've realized no one really reads this blog, but I still have a lot of fun writing it. Later today I'll probably write about the Olympics! Go team USA!

But for now, everyone's all tan and swimmed out. Saying it's time to go back to school, I've been dying to write about going back to school and how to do it in style. For me, school's a lot of fun. I love being creative and letting people take notice. Not that I'm always my self, but that's my School Years Resolution.

BE MORE ME

I don't like being original. I like current styles, but I like having my own edge. Have fun completing some of these great back to school crafts. Comment to tell me how it turned out. Later I'll post how mine turned out. If I ever get school supplies, thanks to my new principal who has yet to post our supply list. :(

SUPPLIES

Binders, Notebooks, and Pens.. Oh my!

For binders:
I love whiteout and doodling. So last school year I took white out to the inside of my binders and doodled different things. It was a fun to come to school with a few doodles and add more and more as the year went on. I had a cool bottle of whiteout that was a brush and a pen, so I could easily draw and write things. It started a really big craze at my school, which lead to the diminishing of my white out, because I lent it out to people and they ended up spilling it everywhere. It's still I really great idea, as long as you don't lend to many people your white out.
For the outside sleeve I love designing collages on construction paper and slipping it into the clear outside sleeve. Last year I had chinese fortunes, silly bandz (remember them?) Magazine clippings, pictures of my favorite things, candy wrappers, covers of bands that I like and whatever else I could find from my craft drawer. Everyone complimented me on my binders and my binders were distinguishable and fun. Just make sure to let your art dry completely before putting it in, or else you might have some issues.

For notebooks:

Again, white out, white out, white out. Also doodling with sharpies is a lot of fun! Doodle on both covers inside and out! Another great idea is to buy your favorite color of duct tape and decorate your binders and notebooks that way. I took sharpies and let my friends sign it, just be careful because it will ware off after a while.

For pens:

I love decorating my pens with duct tape. I made duct tape rose pens and even sprayed a little perfume in the center for a nice smell. Here's a link to the tutorial http://www.instructables.com/id/Duct-Tape-Rose-Pen/

Lockers

Lockers are one of my favorite things to decorate. Before you begin make sure your school allows you to decorate your lockers.

Don't go overboard, don't paint anything, or line it with wallpaper. But some personalized magnets and a cork board are just enough to show off your style. Find cute magnets that show off your likes and personalities.. Or make your own, it's a lot of fun to go to your local craft store and buy magnets, cardboards and fun pictures.

You can also put pictures of friends and family in your locker. Just don't go overboard!

Great accessories, depending on how big your locker is, is a
  • cork board to hang notes and reminders on.
  • A whiteboard to write messages on.
  • A mirror to check you don't have anything in your teeth.

Backpacks

Have an old backpack that's a little to boring? Decorate it with buttons, sharpies, iron ons, and white out. Doodle, draw designs or stick iron ons. It will give your backpack a little more flair. Again just don't go overboard, or you'll look desperate.

No matter what you do, be a trendsetter! Start new trends with how you decorate your backpack, binders and locker. Have fun and be yourself! But keep in mind, if a bunch of other people are doing a certain thing. Go in the opposite way! As long as it still fits your personality.

How to survive the dreaded wait after an audition

Hola,

So I've been super duper busy this week with Alice in Wonderland Musical auditions. I'm really hoping for a singing part (Alice, White Rabbit, Tweedles, Caterpillar, or Queen of Hearts.)

On Wednesday we had to learn a quick dance routine to the white rabbits theme song I'm Late.

Thursday we had to prepare a minute of song from the musical to sing, I chose Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah and I feel like I did pretty good, the clapped when I finished and it wasn't one of those awkward paused slow clapping.

Then yesterday was acting, we had to cold read from a scene from the musical, I read for small alice then got called back to read Alice (fingers crossed.)

I find out on Monday whether I made it in, so now the long dreaded wait.  So I decided to make write a how to survive the audition waiting period before you find out the cast.

So no matter how long it takes to find out, it seems like an eternity. You always go back and say What-if? Well clear that out of your mind and get the jitters out.

1. DON'T think about what you could have done better, or What-ifs. It's pointless and what's done is done. Even though you can't stop thinking about how you forgot a dance step, cracked on a note, missed a rest or read a word wrong, DON'T it puts you in a bad mood and you'll worry to much.

2. DO think about the good things you did, did you hit the high note? Nailed the funny accent and got the directors laughing? Or showed them of your skills. If your worried about not making it think of all the good things you did instead of the bad.

3. DON'T sing the songs, do the dances or read what what you had to read. It makes you think of things you could have done better and again; bad mood.

4. Find something to busy yourself, read, listen to music, get outside, play a sport, get together with a friend. Whatever you find fun. It will get your mind off of it for a while.

5.  Stay away from anything related to what you auditioned for, don't research characters, learn lines, or anything of the sort, because if you don't get the part you will be disappointed you can't be a part of it.

6.  IF you don't make it, it's okay to be sad, cry, whine, complain, be angry. It's natural, while it's annoying to family members, it helps. But keep in mind it might not always be you weren't good enough but you weren't exactly what they were looking for. Don't worry, there will be other auditions!

7. IF you do make it, be happy! Learn your part as soon as possible, NOW you as much research you can about the character to be the best you can be.

Good Luck! Have fun!

Change of Plans and cool stats

For anybody reading this blog and seeing my Camp NaNoWriMo profile, you'll see that it says I'm writing Time of the Shadow people, where just yesterday I said Where the Lines Overlap. Well one thing you should know about me is a change my mind, a lot. Time of the Shadow People is a story I wrote and finished in 10,000 words. I was proud of it at the time, but looking back I really want to make it longer and possibly publishable. So I'm rewriting it and hoping for the best.

Here's the summary

The shadow lands, and the light kingdom have been at war for decades, both lands are dying because of it. Lucinda, the daughter of the light kingdom king, King Abner is about to take on the light kingdom. But she is determined not to take on the war her father has created. So she runs off to find her Uncle to end the war. Along the way she meets an unlikely friend, a boy named Colden. He is a shadow lands boy, but does he hold a secret that could put her mission in jeopardy?

Here's the cover. Created by me

One another note, I was looking at some blog stats this morning and I thought I'd share.
